If the climber is age 12 or under: the climber’s parent (or legal guardian) must print his or her name in the blank in section 1, initial each of the nine sections plus section 10, and then sign the appropriate box on page 3. Fill in the box at the bottom of page 2 (“Participant’s Information”) with the child’s information (no signature required in this box). Please also send back a copy of the parent’s driver’s license, unless the signing parent will be here in person.

  • There is a viewing area for parents..(no charge)
  • Rock n Jammin has asked us to give them a headcount of scouts going.
  • Please ask your Den parents at tonight’s meeting who all will be attending.
  • I will have a signup sheet to pass around. We would like to get waivers all filled out tonight.
  • Scouts are free.
I will plan on being there at 430 and help orient any adult leaders who want to help with ‘belaying’ our scouts. Its easy to learn!

Tips on Selling Popcorn for Pack 11

To save you all some time, these tips helped us sell popcorn this past weekend. We learned most of them on this Trails End website.

1) Email Perry for your scout's key for the http://www.orderpopcorn.com site. You can then send this link to friends/coworkers/relatives. They enter in your scouts key and he gets the credit. Mention that 70% of monies raised stay within the scout organization.

2) Take your scout door to door in the blocks surrounding your house..after they decide on which item they want, ask for a military donation on top of the order.

3) Mention that it is helpful to Pack 11 to collect money up front. This allows you to deliver and not have to track down payment later.

4) For best results, scouts should wear their uniform.

5)If they dont like popcorn, mention that they can still support the Pack by the military donation. Also, the new Trails Mix has been a big seller.

6) Write your scouts order key on the side of the popcorn boxes. There is a space for them.

7) Sign up for the King Soopers / Safeway time slots. This is another great way for your scout to make sales for your Pack and earn prizes.

If your curious what the top sellers last year did, you can see their results here. The top scout in the Western region sold $39,501...Amazing!

About Pack 11

Cub Scout pack 11 was started many years ago as a way for younger children to get in on the fun and excitement of Scouting!

We start with Tiger cubs in 1st grade and progress through Wolves (2nd grade), Bears (3rd grade), and Webelos (4th and 5th grades). Scouts are welcome to join at any age and are placed in the appropriate group.

Cub Scout Packs are divided into Dens that range in size, but usually have 5-8 boys. Tiger Cub Dens also have the Tiger Cub's adult partner as participants.

Den members learn age appropriate skills and enjoy many activities. Each month culminates in a pack meeting, where all the Dens come together and participate in fun activities and ceremonies. Most month’s activities revolve around a central theme. Some of the themes planned for 08/09 are Shipbuilding, Veteran's Day Parade March, Indoor Wall Climbing, Camping Adventures - and of course, the famous Pinewood Derby!

Cub Scout packs belong to larger groups called Districts and Councils. Pack 11 is in the Frontier District and is part of the Denver Area Council. Cub Scouting is for all boys in 1st through 5th grade. If you have financial concerns, please ask about camp scholarships, free dues, and ways to make Cub Scouts affordable. No one should feel that they may not participate for lack of funds!!!

Join Cub Scout Pack 11 and learn leadership skills, build good character, enjoy outdoor activities and help your community. Past activities have included camping, hiking, biking, indoor rock climbing, swimming, Pinewood Derby car races, State Capitol tour, tree planting, Good Turn Week activities and lots more.

Meetings: Tuesdays: 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. Edison Auditorium Starts: September 2, 2008

Cost: $40/year (9 months) and 1x registration fee of $8
